What to do what to do!
You keep telling them you are not the debtor and they still keep calling you.
Follow these easy steps:
- Purchase a notebook
- Keep a log of all the calls. [Agency Name | Agent Name | Date | Time | Debtor Requested]
- Inform the agent that you have logged in the information and if they call again, they will be violating the FDCPA
- If the same company calls again, ask to speak to a manager and inform them of the logs when they have called
The biggest way in which these collection agencies get your number is the person they are looking for had the number before you and this number is there in the files the credit reporting bureaus are selling to the agencies. If I was you, I would contact each one of those three agencies and fax a copy of your phone bill or something proving that it is not the debtors number anymore.
